College of Dentistry received three awards from the King Khalid University for Excellence in academic year 2016/2017. It received the first rank in the Excellence in Community Service (Institutions) branch, as well as second place for the student excellence (Male), and second place also the student excellence (female). Thanks to Allah, this is not the first time that the college has received this award. It has previously been awarded second place in the branch of excellence in community service (institutions). This is evidenced by the college's continuous its mission and its duties to develop its students and develop their abilities, scientific and clinical skills, and provide their services, awareness and educational, which is in the interest of community service and citizen. King Khalid University's goal of excellence is to constantly motivate its faculty members, employees and students, as well as to instill a culture of excellence, to spread the concept of quality and to seek constant development and attention to the active members of the university community. Support them and provide a supportive and attractive environment for them.

The competition in the fields of "the most beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran, the dumping, the cultural competition, the poetry magazine, the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), the Prophet's biography, the competition "explain", poetry, Nabataean poetry, short story," and the special arbitration competitions are divided into works of art, Drawing, painting, photography, and digital art. " The college has won seven Cultural Olympiad awards in several fields. The Dean of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Sulaiman Al Shahrani, congratulated the students and thanked Dr. Khalil Asiri, the student Advisor for his efforts. The winners are as follows: Student / Fares Mohammed Bin Hamran is the first place in photography Student / Fares Ahmed Al-Asiri is the first place in the drawing Student / Faisal Fares Al Ahmari is the first place in the cartoon Student / Abdullah Mesrouj Al Abu Saber Second place in the drawing Student / Abdul Hakim Abdullah Al-Qarni Second place in Arabic calligraphy Student / Turki Saad Al-Shaher is the third place in Arabic calligraphy The College also won the third place at the level of the university faculties in the Fourth Cultural Olympiad.

College of Dentistry Dental Club held the first interactive meeting of this year's "winter meeting" on Tuesday, 27/1/1439 H. In the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Al Shahrani, Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Aziz Abu Melha, Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Khalil Asiri, many of the Interns and students of the college. Some of cultural and sporting events were held during the meeting and concluded with a dinner.

Dr. Khalil Asiri, Chairman of the Student Club also delivered a speech on this occasion.   The ceremony was attended by Vice Deans, Department Chairmen, faculty and students. Earlier in his speech the Dean welcomed level 3 students who have recently joined the college.   It is worth mentioning that the College encourages and supports all students to participate in various student activities with the assistance and supervision of the chairman of the Student Club. These activities are aimed at proper utilization of leisure time by students, reinforcement of relationship between the students after study hours, make the students' aware of their responsibilities and training students to work together as a team. Regardless of their academic levels, students are encouraged to develop and enhance their skills through cultural and sports activities.

The meeting was held today morning in the University City in Abha. Upon his arrival, Rector Al Solamy was briefed on the distinguished scientific posters, which were selected out of 47 types of research that were provided by the male student of the 14th and 15th group and by the female students of the 2nd and 3rd group; 24 research provided by male doctors and 23 by female doctors. After that, the Rector honored the doctors who achieved the first three places in each group. Winners were selected according to specific criteria that were determined by the college's scientific committee for research. The Rector honored also the faculty members and the research supervisors.   For his part, the Dean of the Dentistry School, Dr. Ibrahim Al Shahrani thanked the Rector for attendance. Dean Al Shahrani pointed out that the Rector's attendance reflects his ongoing encouragement to scientific research in the university as he- the Rector- was keen on the students' participation in the event. It is noteworthy that the Dentistry School has a high-quality infrastructure, including clinics and labs, in its two branches, male and female. In details, 205 clinics for male and 121 clinics for female were equipped. Clinics were provided with needed labs that help in training doctors before clinical treatment. In addition, the Dentistry School has taken care of training its students, male and female, on the most modern treatment methods.
