برنامج الامتياز لطب الأسنان هو برنامج مدته 12 شهرًا مصمم لتحسين معرفة ومهارات طبيب الأسنان الخريج (المتدربين) في ممارسة طب الأسنان العام. يُعد البرنامج المتدربين لتقديم رعاية أسنان عالية الجودة مع التوجيه المطلوب من مختلف التخصصات. يقدم البرنامج رؤى خاصة في مجال تخصصهم المستقبلي المخطط له، ويتضمن مشاريع بحثية لإظهار الأفكار المبتكرة وتطوير مهارات الكتابة العلمية. يوفر البرنامج أيضًا فرصة للمشاركة في برامج الصحة المجتمعية والبقاء على اطلاع بأحدث التطورات في صحة الفم.
عند الانتهاء الناجح من متطلبات البرنامج، سيحصل المرشح على شهادة تدريب داخلي صادرة ومختومة من كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة الملك خالد. جوهر برنامج تدريب الامتياز في طب الأسنان هو تسهيل انتقال الطالب الجامعي المراقب عن كثب إلى ممارس أسنان مستقل مسؤول عن قراراته المهنية وعلاجه الخاص. يعمل كفترة فاصلة أساسية للسلطات الأكاديمية لضمان أن المنهج الجامعي مصمم بشكل مناسب ويعرض المتدربين لتخصصات مختلفة لمساعدتهم في تحديد مجال اهتمامهم وخياراتهم المهنية.

General Rules And Regulations
Intern Duties:
- Attend actively to their assigned duties (new patient’s clinics, emergency clinics, scheduled patient clinics and other activities during the program).
- Mandatory case documentation for every patient.
- Patient instruction regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, or oral health care services.
- Compliance with the infection control policy of the college.
- Participate in dental community projects organised by the college.
- Active participation in research programs.
Intern Rights:
- Receive the optimum support provided by consultant supervision in the clinics (if needed) as well as in the research projects.
- Be treated respectfully and courteously by faculty, staff and students.
- Receive proper notification in case of below-average performance assessment and improvement options.
- Know the approximate timeline for requirements (clinical and research) to be completed.
- Obtain assistance referred from relevant oral care professionals whenever needed.
- Request a report of his/her evaluation as per college regulations.
- Submit complaints or suggestions about the care and service in relevance to the training program.
- Discontinue patient treatment at any time, after establishing lawful reasons.
