In a proactive move to promote oral health among the children of King Khalid University (KKU) employees, the KKUCOD organized a dental inspection and topical fluoride application program. The event, held at KKUCOD clinics on the AlFaraa campus, aimed to provide comprehensive oral care for the children of KKU staff.

Invitations were extended to all KKU employees, encouraging their participation in this valuable initiative. A total of 14 faculty members, along with 8 students and 2 intern doctors, actively engaged in the program, ensuring its success.

In a commendable effort to enhance oral health awareness among children of  Altawheed Intermediate School in Abha, KKUCOD hosted a two-day community program. The initiative, organized by 31 male students from level 16, aimed to educate and screen the oral health of students.

Day One: Screening and Referral

A program has been launched with the aim of providing essential dental treatment services to patients with special needs at the Rehabilitation Center in Abha.

The program, operating on a weekly basis every Monday, brings together a dedicated team comprising 8-12 intern doctors and 2 faculty supervisors. Their mission: to extend basic dental treatments, including oral prophylaxis and restorations, to individuals with special needs.

Two faculty members from the Department of Dental Education, Dr. Syed Sadatullah and Dr. Sondos Alghamdi, collaborated with members of the Saudi Society for Medical Education and held a 2-day workshop directed at all healthcare professions at King Khalid University on October 22nd and 23rd, 2023. The workshop titled “Teaching How to Teach and Assessments in Healthcare Education” was held for two days at the administration building at KKU.
