College Reading Room

The College of Dentistry Reading Room Facility is designed to support students and faculty in their pursuit of academic excellence, research, and scientific knowledge acquisition. Recognizing the importance of continuous learning in dentistry, the facility provides access to essential textbooks, digital resources, and collaborative study spaces, ensuring that students stay updated with the latest scientific advancements and clinical practices. To create a quiet and focused study space, the college has established two separate reading rooms, one for male students and another for female students. These spaces are equipped with essential textbooks and reference materials covering all major dental specialties.

In addition to physical resources, students and faculty have access to the Saudi Digital Library (SDL), which allows them to explore a vast collection of e-books, research articles, and peer-reviewed journals using their university credentials. This digital access ensures that users can stay informed about the latest advancements in dental research, clinical techniques, and emerging technologies. Furthermore, students can also utilize the university’s central library, where they have the option to borrow books and access additional reading materials based on the library’s rules and regulations.

While reading is often a solitary activity, collaborative learning plays a significant role in enhancing comprehension and critical thinking. To facilitate group discussions and peer learning, the reading room facility includes dedicated study nooks where students can sit together, discuss key concepts, and share insights from their reading materials. These areas encourage students to exchange ideas, analyze complex topics, and deepen their understanding of various dental subjects. Engaging in discussions with peers helps in problem-solving, reinforcing knowledge, and preparing for exams or case presentations.
