Patient care
Introduction
Welcome to the University Dental Hospital at King Khalid University, where patient care begins with the seamless creation of an electronic file, followed by a comprehensive diagnosis and case discussion under the supervision of highly specialized consultants across all dental departments. This meticulous approach ensures the development of a personalized and high-quality treatment plan, adhering to the highest standards of precision in healthcare.
The hospital serves approximately 13,000 cases annually, utilizing cutting-edge technology such as electronic scanning and 3D printing to facilitate in-depth case analysis. Surgical and non-surgical endodontic treatments are performed with the assistance of medical microscopes, and high-resolution display screens enhance the academic and educational experience for students.
For cosmetic restorations, the hospital is equipped with an advanced CAD/CAM laboratory, enabling precision-driven digital workflows that accelerate case completion while maintaining superior aesthetic outcomes. Additionally, a dedicated minor surgery unit performs various oral and maxillofacial procedures in a specialized setting. Advanced cases undergo final documentation at the dental photography studio, which utilizes high-quality imaging techniques to allow students to present their clinical cases at both local and international conferences.
The hospital also serves as a hub for research, events, and investment, leveraging its state-of-the-art laboratories to develop innovative skills that support both educational and scientific advancements. As part of its commitment to community service, the hospital operates mobile dental clinics that enhance public health awareness and extend quality dental care to underserved communities.
All these efforts align with the university’s strategic vision to:
Enhance educational outcomes | Promote research and innovation | Strengthen social responsibility |
Improve the quality of university life | Achieve institutional excellence | Diversify and sustain revenue sources |
These initiatives align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, ensuring continuous progress in healthcare, education, and community engagement.
